Gaëtan Bonhomme is an investor in Climate Tech at Breakthrough Energy Ventures in Europe. He was previously co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Kurion, a US-based environmental management startup founded in 2008 that focused on nuclear waste treatment solutions.

Through Gaëtan’s leadership, Kurion was able to successfully deploy its technology in the aftermath of the 2011 Fukushima crisis, and the company was ultimately acquired by Veolia in 2016. Prior to Kurion, Gaëtan worked in technology development and industrial innovation at Saint-Gobain in the US and in France.

He holds several graduate degrees, including a PhD in Materials Science from Ecole des Mines de Nancy (ENSMN) working on the industrial applications of quasicrystals, and an MBA from MIT Sloan where he was part of the first Entrepreneurship & Innovation cohort.
